MY CONTRIBUTION

As Eternal’s lead product analyst, I was responsible for sifting through vast amounts of player engagement and purchase data and finding insights to improve the product’s health metrics.

CONTRIBUTION EXAMPLE

Looking at Eternal’s purchase data, I found an anomaly in that the $20 price point for hard currency lagged behind both the $10 and $35 price points. Curious, I looked into it.

Looking at purchase data as well as its history, I didn’t find anything strange. This anomaly wasn’t caused by the introduction of a pricepoint, or changes in the value of the price point. I started to look harder at the fundamental numbers (price, value) offered.

I found that the $20 price point offered simply 2x the value at 2x the cost compared to the $10. The $35 offered better value, so players shied away from $20 in favor of $35 or $10 depending on individual price sensitivity. I pitched an adjusted price vs value price giving slightly more at $20. This was enacted and we saw an immediate increase in $20 sales and total revenue.
